Welcome to our Health Office site.  My name is Mrs. Laratonda, RN.  I'm the School Nurse here at Maryvale Primary.

I've been a school nurse in the Maryvale district since 1982. I received an Associate's Degree in Nursing from Trocaire College and a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the State University of New York at Buffalo. I'm a member of the New York State Association of School Nurses and the Western New York School Nurses Association. Each year I complete over thirty continuing education hours related to school nursing and annually renew my Red Cross certification in CPR and defibrillation.

With the help of our website, I  hope to share some important information and answer most questions you may have regarding health office procedures and policies which may affect your child. In addition, this web site will address health topics which relate to young school aged children and will contain health news and upcoming events that may be of interest.

Some of the questions most frequently asked relate to topics such as physicals, medications, allergies, phys ed excuses, and exclusions. Many parents ask about when they should keep their child home from school and what the policy is if their child won't be at school due to illness or injury. If you have a question or concern which you don't see addressed here, please contact me at : 685-5807  (Primary School Health Office)
