Welcome to Maryvale Middle School!  In order to be successful in sixth grade, organization is very important.  To assist with organization, each middle school student will be given a combined handbook/assignment book. In addition, we ask that each sixth grader bring all of the following supplies to school on the first day, labeled with NAMES ONLY (a link for a printable list is located at the bottom of the page):

• 5 folders with clips and pockets in the following colors:

        Red

        Purple

        Yellow

        Blue

        Green

• 5 binders (1” with 3 rings and preferably with pockets) in colors as close to:

        Red

        White

        Black

        Blue

        Green

• Twelve #2 pencils, at least
• 6 red pens, at least
• 6 blue or black BALLPOINT pens, at least (no felt tip or “clicky” pens)
• Three packages of loose-leaf paper, at least
• One composition book
• One glue stick (non-running glue)
• One package colored pencils (smallest package)
• One package of thin (pencil-sized) markers (smallest package)
• One highlighter
• Two dry erase markers
• One cloth pencil case with zipper
• Fifteen dividers with tabs, at least
• One sturdy, shiny TAKE HOME folder
• Students enrolled in Exploratories only will need a few additional supplies for each exploratory class throughout the year (3 more folders, any color, a customary ruler, another 1” three ring binder, a pencil sharpener and a sketch pad)  Please leave these supplies at home until they are needed throughout the year.
• Students will need the following for Physical Education: Sneakers, deodorant, extra shorts and extra t-shirt

Please, ABSOLUTELY NO “Trapper Keepers” or binders over 1 inch thick, spiral notebooks, or book bags with wheels.  They cause problems when stored in the lockers.
