The Board of Education of the Cheektowaga-Maryvale School District is committed to providing a safe and orderly educational environment to enable its students, staff and community members to grow as responsible, productive and involved citizens. The Board of Education is also committed to maintaining in the schools a climate of mutual respect and dignity to promote learning in a safe environment. Responsible behavior by students, teachers, other district personnel, parents and all visitors is essential to achieving this goal. The Board of Education recognizes that our expectations for acceptable conduct while at school and at school-related functions must be clearly defined and communicated to our constituents, as should the possible consequences for unacceptable behavior. The Board also recognizes the need, when necessary, to ensure the prompt and fair administration of discipline. To that end, the Board of Education of the Cheektowaga-Maryvale School District adopts this Code of Conduct. Unless otherwise indicated, the Code of Conduct applies to all students, school personnel, parents and other visitors when on school property or attending a school function.
