INTRODUCTION
This document was developed during the fall and winter of the 1993-1994 school year. It is designed to address the intent of shared decision making as conceptualized in A New Compact for Learning and as mandated by Commissioner’s Regulation 100.11.
Participants in this process represented the four key stakeholder groups outlined in C.R. 100.11, i.e., the Superintendent, parents, administrators and teachers association. Participation was expanded to include community members, teachers from each building site, the Board of Education, central administration, the support staff and students.
The group facilitator was NYSUT’s Donald Mesibov. He was assisted by David Hill (Erie I BOCES), Larry Byrd (NYSUT Resource Person) and Jane Ruff (Erie I BOCES).
Participants included: John Lewis, Eileen Manns, Marian Basior, Betty Prowse, Michael Swords, Kathy Macris, Don Hale (Community); Mary Boorman, Karen Augustine, Sue LoGalbo, Thomas Cavalieri (PTO); Mary Lettieri (CSEA); Rita Ames, Bridget Herod (MTA); Jack Yanno, Gary Piazza, Geraldine Buono, JoAnne Fritsch (Site Reps); David Gorlewski (Central Office); Michael Zielinski (Administration); Donald Glinski (Board of Education); Laura Cinski, Amy Herbst (Student Government); and Gary Brader (Superintendent).
