The District utilizes six natural gas wells on its property to help supplement its heating needs in the winter months.
All the Middle School science labs have been refurbished to meet the NYS standards: each room has electrical and computer capabilities at each lab table.
Our High School fields area contains a low elements "ropes" course as part of Project Adventure. Our small wrestling gym has a complete rock climbing wall. We have five soccer fields, four baseball diamonds, a football stadium/track and each venue is shared with community groups, little leagues and adult education.
The walls of the High School have been painted and decorated by the Environmental Art class.
Our High School offers the six unit sequence in pre-engineering from Project Lead the Way through its Technology Department. The Middle School Technology Department will also offer some programming aimed at leading students to this engineering program.
The Primary School Library contains a scale replica of a ship that the students named the ABookworm@ and that they enjoy sitting on and in to read library books. There is also a tug boat in the library.
In the Primary School Art Room there is a "structure" for students to explore, aa rain forest habitat, and ferocious wooden pterodactyls that swoop from the ceiling! ( all the work for these unique educational materials were constructed by teachers and parents).
Our Technology Plan is nearly complete. We have three or four student and one teacher computer in each classroom in the Primary, and Intermediate Schools and Middle Schools and comuter rooms and labs and teacher computers in the High School. Our libraries have computers for individual and group work. Our latest lab is in the High School music theory room where students can now compose and play utilizing state-of-the-art computer key boards.
